Celebrate Your Female Friendships
Have you ever put any thought into a character from a popular TV show inventing an actual holiday? It never crossed my mind either. But that’s exactly how February 13 became known as Galentine’s Day.
As you may have guessed, the holiday’s name was derived from blending the word gal with Valentine’s Day, which created a fun day for women to celebrate womanhood, female empowerment, and independence.
Wondering how you can observe the day with your girlfriends? There are no rules so you can create your own fun in person or virtually. Here are a few ideas that can be shared whether you are together or apart:
- Play music + have a dance party
- Sip wine + cook together
- Watch a movie
- Enjoy an indoor picnic
- Create arts + crafts projects
There is no right or wrong way to enjoy Galentine’s day. So regardless of how you celebrate with your gal pals, use the day to make each other feel extra special, have fun, and honor your friendships.
